INTRODUCTION

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Design, develop, and optimize localization algorithms:
- LiDAR-based localization (LOAM, LIO-SAM, FAST-LIO, GLIM…)
- Visual or visual-inertial odometry (VIO/SVO/VINS…).
- GNSS/INS fusion (EKF/UKF/Factor Graph).
- Build and maintain high-precision localization pipelines tolerant to urban noise.
- Design motion and observation models such as IMU preintegration, pose graph optimization, loop closure, and map matching.
- Integrate multi-sensor data including LiDAR, IMU, GNSS, wheel odometry, and camera.
- Develop and optimize local maps/global maps (LiDAR map, semantic map).
- Collaborate with Planning, Control, Perception, and DBW teams to ensure smooth real-time pose output.
- Analyze logs, debug issues such as drift, delay, tracking loss, time-sync and calibration errors.
- Participate in on-vehicle testing and evaluate system accuracy and robustness.
- Write technical documents, algorithm papers, and integration documentation.
REQUIREMENTS
- BS in Computer Science, Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, proof of exceptional skills in related fields with practical software engineering experience, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge in robot kinematics, 3D geometry (SE3, Lie Algebra).
- Experience with filtering (EKF, UKF, IEKF) and nonlinear optimization.
- Solid understanding of SLAM, odometry, and multi-sensor fusion.
- Proficiency in C++ (C++14/17/20) and experience with real-time systems or ROS/ROS2.
- Experience with GTSAM, Ceres-Solver, Eigen, PCL, and optionally OpenCV.
- Experience processing LiDAR (Ouster/Hesai/Livox), IMU, GNSS RTK, and wheel encoder data.
- Deep understanding of calibration, time synchronization, map quality, and drift mitigation.
- Ability to read and implement algorithms from research papers or open-source projects.
- Logical thinking, proactiveness, and willingness to test on real vehicles.
Preferred skills
- Experience with LIO-SAM, FAST-LIO, R3LIVE, VINS-Fusion, Cartographer, ORB-SLAM.
- Experience building mapping or offline tools (LiDAR mapping, map blending, compression).
- Experience with HIL/SIL simulation (CARLA, LGSVL, AirSim).
- Knowledge of functional safety for autonomous vehicles.
- Experience with Docker or CI/CD.
- Research publications or practical robotics/AV experience.
